Normal Schedule again

Things seem to be going back to normal now, as in work and hours and such. Orders are coming in as delayed as before on Tuesdays. I'm barely able to start cutting lenses for glasses before we leave on the same day. people come in asking for their glasses and I have to rush to make them in that instant. Other than that, it's all good.

Oh yeah, also I missed work on Monday last week because of the storm. The buses stopped running for the afternoon because of the flooding.

New Year!

Its been a long time since I've posted on here. Winter Break just passed by last week and I was real busy. I worked full time ALL of the break. It was tiresome and I managed to get caught up with all my work so now I get to return to my normal work schedule.

Nothing new

Same old same old. Still having a bunch of work pile on me thanks to the delays in shipping. It may be like this because of the time of year but this being my first year on the job I can't be certain.

My work seems to be breeding......

Every time I'm about to finish a stack of glasses another comes in. Happens mostly in the beginning of the week when the order of glasses from friday and/or saturday doesn't come in till tuesday or wednesday. By then I already have a stack from monday and tuesday and it all just piles up. I'ts not overwhelming because I finish them eventually. I don't know if its the shipping department that delays the packages or if its ups.

Been a while

Since the last post, things have been rough. At first there were many mess ups and there were times I had to reorder lenses 5 times in a row, which is alot. A normal job should be good the first time it's done. A second try would be okay and after that its too many. Now it's gotten back to normal and I haven't had much trouble except for a sudden sleepyness that has over come me this last week. I think I've gotten over it now.

Solved Problems

So this past week I've received many of the glasses I've done back because they were off axis. I needed to try some trials on the machine so that i could try to figure out what was wrong. I ended up deciding to trace both R and L sides of the frame so that the machine could edge the lenses specifically to their shape and not do it off of symmetry. So far it's been going well and i haven't seen many of my past jobs come back.

Also we had to wait for a large order of frames to come in. We had a lot of people's glasses on hold because those frames were put on backorder by the distributor. I finished edging them and was glad because they were beginning to take up a lot of space.

Seems better

I actually have some work this week. It's strange how it feels to have a normal work week when I haven't had one in a while. I've been pretty busy.
